Learn Sanskrit through chanting Bhagavad Gita | Dr. MA Jayashree | Lecture |
| Class Description : Bhagavad Gita is a treasure of wisdom. It is the guiding light to lead every human being on Earth to a successful and tranquil life. The presence of mind and the equanimity is acheived by practising the path that is suitable to each personality, whether he/she is a technologist, scientist, intellectual or emotional being. It is only the mental make-up that is responsible for the attitudes. To bring coherence to all these, which is the goal of Yoga, learn Bhagavad Gita by chanting and also learn Sanskrit, the gateway to all Yoga texts. |

What is Yoga? A Historical Overview | Carlos Pomeda | Lecture |
| Class Description : The answer is not as obvious as it may seem. In fact, the various systems of yoga that developed in India over the centuries are different answers to that fundamental question. But this workshop does not treat the question nor the answers from a theoretical perspective. It does provide a chronological overview of the development of yoga. It does explore the major systems from the perspective of their answers to that question. And it does provide a useful framework for further study. But, most importantly, it explores the various approaches to life and to practice that each system contains. Geared primarily for those with some prior exposure to the various yoga systems, this workshop will be an ideal opportunity to fill in any gaps that participants might have as to the history of yoga and also to go deeper into the heart of each school examined, ending with a comfortable degree of basic familiarity with the major systems. The workshop will combine a lively and insightful presentation of some of the most important teachings of the various schools, including the origins of yoga, the classical formulation of Patanjali's, the various systems of Vedanta and the various approaches of Tantrism, including Kashmir Shaivism. It will also include a variety of meditative and other practices, representative of each of these schools, so as to give participants an "inside" feel for each one. |

| Class Description : What is the fastest means to the experience of the highest? In this workshop, we will explore the practical approaches and answers to that question provided by the Vivekacudamani, one of the most important works of Vedanta. In this brief and incisive yoga scripture we find a complete roadmap: An unshakeable vision of oneness between the Absolute and us as well as a clear vision of the practice to experience that union. In the words of Shankara, its author, this text brings "within easy reach the soothing ocean of nectar that is the Absolute." In this exploration of the sublime system of Vedanta, we will cover topics such as the qualities that lead to success for a yoga student, the nature of human life, the subtleties of perception, and the practice of deep meditation, among others. |

Why Meditation? | Dr. MA Narasimhan | Lecture |
| Class Description : The very question is foolish. But that is what is being asked by people time and time again. We all meditate. There is no one who does not meditate. Meditation is thinking. But the aim of methods and modes of meditation that are envisaged in the yoga system of thought is, how to streamline and channelise the mind. The purpose is akin to the technology that man has developed to control the water, the wind and the Sun to help him in creating energy for his utilisation. Here is the technique to tame the mind in such a way that it can be channelised to become positive, productive and evolutionary. All energies so produced help all societies and individuals without any discrimination, the only limitation being the capability of the end user. Yoga teaches us how one can be an efficient consumer AND producer of energy to sustain the evolution of creation. |

Chakrasana and Jumping Back: A Detailed Look at the Elements of Backward Rolling and Jumping In Reverse | David Swenson | 2hr Session |
| Class Description : Chakrasana is one of the more challenging manoeuvres of Ashtanga Yoga. Many people have great fear around it due to its backward rolling dynamic. We will explore safe and effective methods of approaching Chakrasana. This will be done with partners assisting each other in a controlled fashion. Chakrasana will also be broken down into its basic components in order to gain great understanding of it. This same approach will be applied to the jumping back from a seated position, a movement that can be particularly frustrating for many practitioners. With partner work and alternative approaches everyone will find a practical method of approach for both Chakrasana and Jumping Back that can be applied within their individual practice. This will all be achieved while also having fun. |

Turn Down the Noise | Helene Liu | Lecture |
| Class Description : Self Hypnosis skills for yogis Hypnosis induces a state of trance very similar to that induced during a mindful yoga practice. The deeper stages of hypnosis have been compared to dharana (concentration). Hypnosis works directly at the unconscious level, and the unconscious mind runs and preserves the body. Yoga practitioners with knowledge of self-hypnosis therefore establish a smooth communication with their body, experience fewer injuries (and speedier recovery when injured). Self-hypnosis also allows for an increased mindfulness and focus ("turn down the noise"), an easier handling of negative emotions, and a general increased sense of health and wellness, which is carried outside the studio. In this very practical and hands-on series of sessions, you will be taken through the step-by-step "how to" of self-hypnosis, have time to practise with a partner, and experience a sivasana-style guided hypnosis group session. Who: anyone interested in living a fuller life. |

Learn Sanskrit through Conversation | Dr. MA Jayashree | Lecture |
| Class Description : Conversation is the key to learning any language. Children learn their mother tongue only by listening. They listen and speak. Even when they are in the womb, they listen. So listening is the very first function even before birth. Out of the five sensory organs, ears are most powerful. The ears and the tongue go together. That is why Ancient Indian tradition took the advantage of these senses and educated society. It is said that a language is not taught, it is caught. Learn Sanskrit through conversation by a direct method and deepen your knowledge of Yoga by reading Yoga texts in Sanskrit. |

In this session, we will first go over what yoga says about emotions and then explore practical techniques to keep our mental balance. |

Exploring Postures We (think) We Hate | Twee Merrigan | 2hr Session |
| Class Description : "If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate" ~ Nikka (Age 6), What Love Means To Children How many of us can name the postures that we love to practise? And what about the ones we "hate" to practise? But isn't it so often these postures that we think we hate are actually our very best friends? The ones that help us to see that which we (think we) are not ready to see. The best friend that tells us the truth, even if it's not what we think we want to hear? Helping us to see and hear the truth that will in essence help us to grow? This yogic exploration will equip you with tools to end the struggle with these "hated" postures, to accept your personal truths, to shift your perception, to embrace what is, and to know joy and love within any yoga posture. Join us today if you are ready to change your mind, change your perspective, change your life. *Prana Flow Class. |

Pranayama Practice: Pranayama and Meditation | O.P Tiwari | 2hr Session |
| Class Description : The Yoga Sutras present ashtanga, the eight limbs, and reveal an evolution of development from pranayama to meditation. Hatha yoga and other approaches don't describe meditation but instead talk about a higher state of absorption achieved through the practice of asana and pranayama. This state though is a meditative one. Here Tiwariji offers some insight on how pranayama fits in with meditation. Students will be guided through pranayama practice in each session. |

Pranic Healing as a Way of Life | Glenn Mendoza | Lecture |
| Class Description : Pranic Healing is a breakthrough energy healing modality that offers a systematic and practical approach that complements conventional medicine to produce more rapid results. It is the result of more than 30 years of research by its founder Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, who demystified the ancient art of healing utilising a scientific approach. A cutting edge in the field of vibrational medicine, Pranic Healing teaches a precise method of scanning to determine the specific energetic cause of the problem and location of the abnormality in the energy body. Pranic Healing is active in more than 100 countries, with healing centres in five continents. Pranic Healing is being practised by people from all walks of life. Doctors, nurses, massage therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, as well as business executives, housewives and educators have successfully combined Pranic Healing with conventional medical treatments to gain amazing results. Thousands of people with ailments ranging from back pain to high blood pressure, food addictions to alcoholism, have benefitted by the no-touch, no-drug, and painless method of Pranic Healing. Pointers to Solving the Psyche Soma Puzzle: The Miracle of Opened Possibilities | Helene Liu | Lecture |
| Class Description : Some studies have shown that, in the West, over 80% of yoga practitioners came to yoga in the first place because of a dissatisfaction of some sort, either in the general area of health, or because of some nagging inner unrest, a yearning for a more integrated life and inner peace. Are you one of them? In these times of uncertainty and change, the need for stability and calm is needed more than ever. As all esoteric traditions teach us, reality is created in the mind, and the Body (Soma) and the Mind (Psyche) are one. As we expand the open fan of the possibilities offered to us, inner unrest decrease and integration comes naturally. This workshop is an awakener to new possibilities, and gives some pointers to possible personal answers to the question "how else"? Learn Sanskrit Through Songs | Dr. MA Jayashree | Lecture |
| Class Description : Music is magic. It entices everyone, from children to the elderly. While singing a song, the tune takes the mind to a different level and calms the mind. What ever the language of the lyric might be, the tune and the rhythm makes everyone sing. Singing a song with action is still more entertaining in that it makes the singer more aware of the song's meaning. This helps one to know some words and in the process learn the language. Come, let us sing children's songs and learn Sanskrit, which is the key to all the source texts on Yoga. |

The External Disciplines | Dr. MA Narasimhan | Lecture |
| Class Description : There are eight foundations of Yoga. The basic ones, Yama and Niyama, are the very core of living. When they are voluntarily inculcated, you can avoid further accumulation of impurities and possible obstacles in the path of progress through Yoga. Yamas are those universal concepts that speak of the characteristics that one has to adopt towards the external world, be it animate or inanimate, so that neither the individual nor the external world create hurdles in each other's path of progress. In common parlance these can be termed as Morals and Ethics. |

| Class Description : Our everyday habits reinforce postures that hinder our movement and slow us down. We sit too much, stand badly, walk poorly and strain the same joints repeatedly. In order to reverse this damage and find freedom of the body in movement, we need to support the joints by working with the deep muscular attachments. In this class we will explore the actions of co-contraction that can help you switch on this very necessary support and move into the art of practice using the science of movement. |

Women Of Yoga (此課堂有廣東話翻譯) | Sharon Gannon | 2hr Session |
| Class Description : Traditionally Yoga was a form of Goddess worship - a means to discover the "god-in-us" by allowing nature to be the teacher. As a culture we have forgotten those lessons. We need a new paradigm. This class will be an experiential exploration of what it might mean to be a yogini, allowing the divine feminine to come forth at this time of global crisis, rampant violence, environmental breakdown and consciousness shift. This is a call to all women of yoga to become, in your own unique way, a leader, able to contribute to the healing of our disconnection with nature, the Divine and ourselves. Please bring a blanket. The Inherent Joy of Life: Tantric Reading of Bhagavad Gita | Carlos Pomeda | Lecture |
| Class Description : Where can we draw inspiration for our yoga practice? And where can we turn to for advice? In India, these questions have often been answered in the form of the Bhagavad Gita, one of the foundational texts of the yoga tradition. Written in a simple style, yet profound, inspiring and practical, the Gita has shown generations of yogis and seekers the key to the integration of yoga into our daily lives. In its pages we will find how love, knowledge and action can be the very means by which we access the highest experience. By offering various approaches, the Gita shows how to infuse with meaning, depth and joy not only our practice, but the rest of our lives as well. In this seminar we will tap into the vitality of this classic text, and we will do so by drawing from a unique tantric understanding, guided by the masterful commentary of Abhinavagupta, the foremost exponent of Kashmiri Tantra. Even if you have read or studied the Gita before, the insights contained in this commentary are unique. |

The Mantra of Ashtanga Yoga: Ujjayi | David Swenson | 2hr Session |
| Class Description : In Sanskrit Man means mind and Tra means to free or deliver. Therefore the word Mantra means to free the mind. There are many mantras in yoga, such as Om. In Ashtanga Yoga the mantra is the sound of our breath - ujjayi. There is no other sound more universal than breath. It is not tied to language or culture and is "chanted" from the first moment of birth. This class will focus on the mantra of ujjayi within asana practice as well as some basic pranayama as the pathway to deepening our personal practice, and ultimately, our lives. |

Panel Discussion: Stability in the Midst of Change | Ana Forrest, Andrey Lappa, Dr. MA Jayashree, Carlos Pomeda, Dr. MA Narasimhan, Ganesh Mohan, Rusty Wells | Complimentary Event |
| Class Description : A panel discussion seeking clarity in yoga and questioning how a practice of yoga may cultivate greater stability and peace of mind. According to the classical sources Yoga is an illuminated state of mind free from any association with pain. Most of us feel inspired by a physical practice of yoga and although our shape, size and form tend to fluctuate on all levels (emotionally, physically and mentally), we may ask: "Where is actually the element of yoga in the midst of a physical practice?" In other words where is the element of Yoga to be found within an asana-practice and how can it actually improve our peace and greater stability of mind? A panel discussion featuring some of the most internationally recognized yoga teachers in the world. Where east meets west, scholars meet the autodidact, traditionalist's meets the avant-garde, and the fashionable meets the recluse in an attempt to find the unifying essence of yoga that connects us as practitioners. A heated, healthy hopefully constructive discussion where the participants argue their various points of view in yoga for greater clarity to prevail. Will we succeed? Come and find out! The 2nd half of the panel discussion will also be open to the public. Open to everybody. |
