Born and raised in Kobe, NoBu grew up as an adolescent who idolised Bruce Lee and then became passionate about karate until his mid-20s. He also developed a love for Oriental philosophy and became absorbed in books on this topic. He was strongly influenced by the saints who were behind the philosophies and began a "search for the truth". This journey led him to travel the world for work and leisure, when he never lost sight of his goal to find the truth.

When NoBu first came across yoga 7 years ago, he was a businessman. It was a random event for the 38-year-old, who had tried a simple yoga class at a fitness club and became impressed by how comfortable it made him feel. He was hooked and began pursuing various styles of yoga such as Ashtanga, sivananda and Vinyasa yoga. He was convinced that the way to the truth had been found at last.

When he established KOBEYOGA KOBE ROKKO STUDIO at the age of 42, he was happy that at last, he had made yoga his life's work.

After establishing the yoga studio, he created "SENTETSU Yoga / 先哲瑜伽" through a repetitive period of trial and error. SENTETSU Yoga is a yoga style based on the wisdom of Oriental philosophy (Japanese & Chinese) such as Zen and Taoism.

He teaches general class and RYT200TTC as a teacher at SENTETSU Yoga in Kobe and oversees the administrative duties of the studio.
