FACULTY

Upon receiving his bachelor degree of Medicine and Surgery and master degree in Sports Medicine and Health Science, Bryan works closely with the professional athletes at the Sports Medicine Clinic, the Hong Kong Sports Institute. Apart from yoga, he teaches also as the Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Family Medicine and Part-time Lecturer, Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology in The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

As a medical doctor and yoga teacher, Bryan manages to operate in the space between rigid science and the amorphous metaphysical. His teachings in the anatomy and therapeutic yoga workshops in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Singapore mindfully applies knowledge of biomechanics, functional anatomy and therapeutic skills to traditional asana practice, with the aim to deepen students' understanding of the powerful healing effects of yoga, physically and spiritually.
Bryan believes yoga can cure everyone- from the shining lights of beautiful heart and Bunsen burner. Long busy work days in a seated posture killed his lower back for years and Bryan never found complete relief until the day he accidentally stepped on the yoga mat. He was curious about that magical healing power of yoga and willing to figure out the objective science behind. He then integrates his knowledge together with the yoga practice, and his yoga believe is largely influenced by Jason Crandell and Patrick Creelman, the most influential yoga masters who are not only focus on detailed alignment, but also enlighten students into being mindful and present in the practice.
Bryan’s articulate approach to alignment-based asana practice will empower you – creating space, cultivating strength and preventing over-stress. He is obsessive about simple, accurate and precise guidance. He also encourages students to question assumptions, discover personal truths about their unique biology, and understand their complexities instead of simply focusing on barriers and obstructions.
